The Public Works Department is comprised of eight operating divisions, each of which contributes to protecting the public health, safety and general welfare of the City and its residents. It is responsible for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the water, wastewater, stormwater and roadway systems of the City of Casselberry.

The Department also provides maintenance of all City vehicles. Additionally, the Public Works Department provides water and wastewater services to several surrounding areas of unincorporated Seminole County, Orange County, and parts of other municipalities and manages the solid waste collection within the City.

Members of the Public Works Department provide input to and are members of the Development Review Committee, which reviews all proposed developments within the City to ensure that the design and construction meets the requirements of the City Code of Ordinances.

In addition to the funding provided through the General Fund, the Public Works Department operations are funded by water and sewer revenues, the Stormwater Utility Fund, Local Option Gas Tax (LOGT), the optional one-cent sales tax, and Community Development Block Grants (CDBG).

The City has imposed a street lighting assessment to cover the costs associated with maintaining the street lights within Casselberry.  Please visit the Street Lighting Program webpage for information regarding this proposed program.
