Lift Division
Lift Station

The Lift Station Division is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the 70 wastewater pumping (or "lift") stations in the City of Casselberry wastewater collection system. These lift stations vary in size from a small station serving four homes to master lift stations serving hundreds of homes both directly and from other lift stations.

Each lift station collects wastewater from the gravity (flows downhill) collection system and pumps the wastewater through pipes called force mains to the treatment facility. Each lift station has a storage tank called a wetwell that holds the wastewater until it is pumped.

Six of these lift stations pump into force mains of the City of Orlando's Iron Bridge Road Wastewater Treatment Facility. Those stations and force mains are owned by the South Seminole and North Orange County Wastewater Transmission Authority (SSNOCWTA).

The City of Casselberry has an agreement with SSNOCWTA to operate and maintain these lift stations also. Three of these master lift stations can and periodically are re-routed to the City of Casselberry's Water Reclamation Facility to provide more reclaimed water for irrigation.
