Seminole County AP Underclassmen Exhibit & Skateboard Pop Up Exhibition
February 8, 2018 - February 27, 2018
Reception: Feb. 9, 2018, 6:00 - 8:00 pm

The Art House was delighted once again to showcase the work of Seminole County’s best young artists in the Seminole County Advanced Placement Studio Art Underclassmen Exhibit.  This year’s exhibit featured a wide variety of 2D and 3D artwork from all of the AP Studio Art underclassmen in Seminole County.  A standing-room-only opening reception took place on Friday, February 9, from 6-8pm at the Art House.  Also, alongside the Art House in Lake Concord Park, there was a special Pop-Up Skate Art Exhibition. In addition to showcasing art inspired by skateboarding, the event also served as a gathering to inspire all riders – Skateboarding, BMX or any other wheeled sport, to come together to share and enjoy in the history of over 40 years of action sports in the Casselberry area.


Florida Wax - “Everything Encaustics”
January 23, 2018 - February 6, 2018
Reception: Jan. 26, 2018, 6:00 - 8:00 pm

With the creation of the Florida Wax group, several Florida artists came together to share their talents and celebrate encaustic art - the ancient painting process that utilizes molten beeswax, damar resin and pigments. The Art House was delighted to host “Everything Encaustics” from Florida Wax, which exhibited from January 23 to February 6, with a free opening reception on January 26, from 6-8 pm. Additionally, Florida Wax artist Shelley Jean held a special encaustics workshop at the Art House on February 3rd that was a huge success. Florida Artists Group - “FLAG Area V Exhibit”
December 19, 2017 - January 18, 2018
Reception: Jan. 5, 2018, 6:00 - 8:00 pm

The Casselberry Art House was delighted to have one of the most prestigious groups exhibit to ring in the new year, the Florida Artists Group (FLAG)!  Flag Area V, which includes artists from Indian River, Brevard, Osceola, Orange, Seminole and Lake Counties, exhibited from December 19 – January 18, with a free opening reception on January 5, from 6-8 pm. FLAG was incorporated as a non-profit organization of professional artists in 1949. Made up of artists whose work has attained national or state-wide recognition, the purpose of the group is to stimulate attainment of the highest standards of creative art within the State of Florida. Florida Four & Friends - “Casselberry Art House Exhibit”
December 1 - 14
Opening Reception: Dec. 1, 2017, 4:00 - 8:00 pm

The Casselberry Art House welcomed the Florida Four back to the Art House; and this time, they brought friends! Renowned artists Matthew Cornell, Mary Erickson, Bill Farnsworth, Morgan Samuel Price, and Hodges Soileau brought their considerable talents to the Art House in a show that featured some of the finest paintings to come out of Florida.  An opening reception was held on Friday, December 1, between 4:00-8:00 pm. Additionally, artist Bill Farnsworth held a free painting demonstration outside the Art House at 4:00 pm on December 1, while artist Morgan Samuel Price held a free painting demonstration in the Art House at 7:00pm on December 8, during the Holiday Art & Music in the Park. 


Rotary Club of Casselberry Annual Calendar Exhibit - "Our Central Florida Community"
November 3-30, 2017
Artists Reception: November 3, 6-8 p.m.

 The Art House once again hosted the annual Rotary Calendar exhibit, "Our Central Florida Community," sponsored by the Rotary Club of Casselberry. On display from November 3rd through November 30th, this wonderful show focused a spotlight on the art and artists of the 2018 Calendar, featuring not only the calendar's selected artwork, but also additional art from the 2018 artists.  The mission of The Rotary Foundation is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.


Florida Sculptors Guild - "Best of FSG"
October 9 - 27, 2017
Artists Reception: October 21, 6-8 p.m.  

Art in many dimensions marked the Florida Sculptors Guild's latest exhibit at the Casselberry Art House. In "Best of Florida Sculptors Guild", some of the best works by these Florida sculptors were on display from Oct. 9 through Oct. 27.  Artists from the Guild displayed their work in metal, stone, glass, ceramic, celluclay (paper), and mixed media, with a special reception on October 21, from 6-8 p.m., during iLLuminArt.  For more information on Florida Sculptors Guild, visit


Sanford Seminole Art Association - "Everything Latin"
September 5 - 30, 2017
Artists Reception: September 22, 6-8 p.m.            

A colorful array of artwork by members of the Sanford Seminole Art Association (SSAA) was showcased at the Casselberry Art House during the month of September and in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. The exhibit, titled "Everything Latin," ran Sept. 5-30, with an artists reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Fri., Sept. 22. The show featured paintings in a variety of media, including watercolor, oil, acrylic and soft pastels, plus drawings, sculptures and mixed-media pieces.  The SSAA, which was organized in 1959, is one of the oldest cultural groups in Seminole County. The non-profit organization currently has 55 members from Seminole County and elsewhere in Central Florida.  The group typically meets at 1 p.m. the fourth Saturday of the month, from September through May, at the Seminole County library branch in downtown Sanford, at 150 N. The Central Florida Artist's Way Group - "It's About Time"
Exhibit Dates: August 7 - August 28
Opening Reception: August 13, 7:00-9:00 pm

This exciting art exhibit at the Casselberry Art House featured The Central Florida Artist's Way Group and its exhibit "It's About Time," which displayed at the Art House from August 7 to August 28.  Visitors to this exhibit celebrated under an umbrella of creativity with a fun collection of art featuring original works from P. Dale Henson, Nancy Churchill Sexton, Liz Eunice, Maureen Williams, Joy Markowitz, Kathy Irvine, Karen Carasik, Sam Saporito, Lindsay Lynch, Mallory W. Iles, Estelle Hurwitch, and Cheryl Jones Evans. 


P.O.W. Artists & Friends - Art Heals II: The Journey to Recovery
Exhibit Dates: July 5 - July 28
Opening Reception: July 8, 6:00-8:00 pm

The P.O.W. Artists & Friends returned to the Casselberry Art House with Art Heals II: The Journey to Recovery, on display at the Art House from July 5 to July 28.  Presented in cooperation with JamArt Custom Framing and Gallery, this exhibit featured the work of P.O.W. Artists & Friends, whose moving pieces brilliantly illustrated the power of art to soothe, heal, and uplift. 


3:3:3 - Three Artists, Three Media, Three Directions
Exhibit Dates: June 2 - June 30
Opening Reception: June 10, 6:00-8:00 pm

This exciting art exhibit at the Casselberry Art House featured three artists, three media, and three unique artistic perspectives. 3:3:3 - Three Artists, Three Media, Three Directions, displayed at the Art House from June 2 to 30 and featured the work of three talented local artists each working in different media.  Kathleen Chenet displayed her artworks in Oil, Francine Levy displayed hers in Pastels, and Marianna Hamilton Ross rounded out the group with her Watercolor artwork.


Seniors, Students, and Instructors of the Art House Exhibit

The Art House was delighted to once again host its Annual Seniors, Students, and Instructors of the Art House Exhibit, featuring a great deal of art created within the walls of the Art House!  The Seniors & Students Exhibit ran from May 8 - 30, with a free artist’s reception held from 6 - 8 p.m., Friday, May 19th.  Light refreshments were provided by Seniors for a Better Community, and attendees voted on their favorite artwork, with people's choice going to Michael Bisceglia (1st prize), David Williams (2nd prize), and Carol Brown (3rd prize).


Annual Recycled Art Exhibit

Reception: April 29, 2017, 1:00 - 3:00 pm

The Art House was delighted to once again host its Annual Recycled Art Exhibit, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Casselberry!  Anything goes at this annual exhibit, from two- and three-dimensional works, including but not limited to: paintings, drawings, photography, sculpture, pottery, collage, metalwork and stonework.  At least 50% of each piece of artwork must be recycled (discarded/found) materials man-made or organic, including but not limited to: wood, metal or stone, glass, paper, fabric, pottery and plastic.  The show was on display from April 11-29.  An artists’ reception was held Saturday, April 29, 2016 from 1-3 pm during the Earthfest 2017 Celebration, with cash prizes and ribbons presented by the Rotary Club of Casselberry.


Artists League of Orange County
“Celebrating Life”

The Art House was excited to feature the Artists League of Orange County (ALOC) juried exhibit, “Celebrating Life,” from March 3rd to 30th. On Friday, March 10th, between 6-8 pm, a FREE reception was held when winning ribbons were awarded and refreshments served. Seminole County AP Studio Art Underclassmen Exhibit - “Creativity Unleashed”

The Art House was delighted once again to showcase the work of Seminole County’s best young artists in the Seminole County with this exhibit, which features a wide variety of 2D and 3D artwork from all of the AP Studio Art underclassmen in Seminole County. On Friday, February 10th, the opening reception saw a full house and awards presented to the artists. 


Oviedo Photo Club - "What We See"
Exhibit Dates: January 5 - February 5
Opening Reception: January 13, 6:00-8:00 pm

The Casselberry Art House was delighted to host the photography exhibit, "What We See" from Oviedo Photo Club.

On display from January 5th through February 5th, this far-reaching show focused a spotlight on the wonderful photographs of Seminole County's premiere photography group and proved to be one of the Art House's most well-attended shows to date.

The Oviedo Photo Club was formally organized in 2010 and are well-known and actively involved in documenting the local community events. Club membership includes beginners, advanced amateurs, and professionals using everything from point and shoot to mirrorless cameras to full frame DSLRs. Members enjoy sharing different photographic styles, techniques, successes and failures for the benefit of all. Learn more about the group, please visit their website:


Central Florida Watercolor Society - "The Hidden Gem"
Exhibit Dates: December 2 - 30
Opening Reception: December 9, 6:00-8:00 pm

The Art House was delighted to display "The Hidden Gem" from Central Florida Watercolor Society, from December 2nd through December 30th. This wonderful show focuses a spotlight on over 40 artists of the watercolor painting group, who hail from all over the Central Florida community and was featured as part of the Art House's participation in the Florida Arts Tour. Founded in 1998, by CFWS member Ken Austin, this collection of watercolor enthusiasts were originally known as the “Aquamedia Society”, before a spinoff renamed the “Central Florida Watercolor Society” began in September of the same year. The membership totaled 120 that first year.  It is the mission of the CFWS participating artists to open membership and meetings to anyone interested in watercolor regardless of their expertise. CFWS membership is made up of a diverse mix including accomplished artists willing to share their knowledge as well as novice members eager to learn more.  For more information visit the Central Florida Watercolor Society website.
