  • Gee Creek Erosion Control Project – Phase 1 – EXPECT DETOURS FOR PORTIONS OF N WINTER PARK DRIVE
    This project is scheduled to begin July 5, 2017. It consists of installing a sheet pile wall along the west side of N Winter Park Drive just north of Gee Creek Lane in order to provide erosion protection from the adjacent creek. Travelers should expect road closures and detours. N Winter Park Drive will be FULLY CLOSED from Gee Creek Lane to Belle Avenue from July 10th through July 14th, as well as from July 17th to July 21st. For further details, please click here.  
  • North Oxford Road Paving to Begin Sunday, July 23, 2017 at 6:00pm -The final layer of asphalt will be installed on North Oxford Road between SR 436 and Sandpiper Lane beginning Sunday, July 23, 2017 at 6:00pm. Crews will be installing a 500’ long asphalt test area in the vicinity of the Suburban Extended Stay Hotel (210 N. Oxford Road). Testing should conclude by approximately 3am Monday, July 24, 2017.

Pending successful test results and cooperative weather, full pavement of the entire roadway segment and side street intersections will begin Monday, July 24, 2017 from 6pm and conclude 7:00am Tuesday, July 25, 2017. THIS SCHEDULE WILL REPEAT EACH NIGHT UNTIL THE ENTIRE ROADWAY HAS BEEN PAVED. Paving is expected to take approximately five (5) nights.   • Complete Streets Policy and Design Guidelines – The City of Casselberry adopted a Complete Streets Policy and Design Guidelines in 2016 to encourage roads to be designed and built to accommodate all users of all ages and abilities. Please click here  to view the full Policy.

  • Queens Mirror, Quail Pond, & Southcot Projects Design Update - A City Commission workshop to discuss these three transportation projects has been tentatively scheduled for August 14, 2017 at 3PM in the City Commission Chambers in City Hall at 95 Triplet Lake Drive, Casselberry, FL.   • Road Rehabilitation – Various Streets – This project is scheduled for construction beginning May 22, 2017 and will conclude in November 2017. It includes milling/resurfacing, micro surfacing, and curb ramp/accessibility improvements to about 14 miles of streets within City limits. Click here for more information.

       

  • LYNX SR 436 Study – Help us improve SR 436! LYNX, along with several City and County partners, is conducting a study on SR 436 to improve transit, bicycle, and pedestrian features. Here are two ways to help the project: 1) User Survey: quick 5-minute survey to understand users and travel patterns along the corridor 2) Interactive Map Surveyshare comments on specific locations along the corridor
  • SR 436 (17-92 to Wilshire) Concept Development This FDOT study is building on the previous planning efforts of the SR 436 Corridor Planning Study, which identified a range of roadway improvements. The study limits are for the section of SR 436 from US 17-92 to Wilshire Drive, a distance of approximately one mile. This next phase, the Concept Development Study, is further refining the roadway improvements and detailing the impacts.   • Connecting Casselberry: The Casselberry Multimodal Transportation Master Plan -The City of Casselberry has adopted a Master Plan to shape the next 10 years of local transportation projects, including roads, sidewalks, and trails in the City. The Plan also addresses Complete Streets Policy and Sustainability Policy. Click here to view the adopted plan.

  • Casselberry Greenway Trail Map Click the link for an updated map of the completed Casselberry Greenway Trail and existing nearby bike-friendly streets.
  • I-4 Ultimate Improvement Project Underway – This is a large scale, multiyear FDOT project that will reconstruct 21 miles of I-4, from southwest of Kirkman Rd to northeast of SR 434. It will have a regional impact on traffic. Visit www.i4ultimate.com for information and updates.

  • Shared Lane Marking Installation – Various Areas – The City has been installing “sharrows” on various roads in the City as a bicycling improvement - click here for important details.

  • Casselton Drive Improvements – The City of Casselberry is proposing significant improvements to Casselton Drive (located near the southern border of the City off of SR 436). This project is proposed to increase greenspace, reduce on-street parking, reduce asphalt area, and improve sidewalks, pedestrian safety features, drainage, and utilities. It is anticipated design of the project will be completed by summer 2017. Construction is anticipated to begin in fall 2017.   • Concord Drive Improvements – The City is designing road, drainage, utility, and sidewalk improvements for Concord Drive, including outfall improvements to Lake Lotus to help reduce flood potential. It is anticipated design will be completed by summer 2017. Construction is anticipated to begin in fall 2017. Check back for updates.
