Donato and Aaron Headline Spring Jazz and Art Festival
Saxophone great Will Donato and guitarist Blake Aaron co-headline the City of Casselberry’s FREE Spring Jazz and Art Festival on Saturday, March 25, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Lake Concord Park.
Will Donato, whose latest radio single “Good on You” was a #1 Billboard hit last year, has headlined or shared the stage as a special guest at the Blue Note in New York City, The Seabreeze Jazz Festival, The Capital Jazz Cruise and a host of other great jazz venues. Quoted by NewJazz.com as "A Must See Show!", Donato has also performed with Steve Reid (The Rippingtons, Al McKay (Earth, Wind, and Fire), Brian Simpson, Steve Oliver, Richard Elliot, Nick Colionne, Wynonna Judd, Richard Marx and many others. He has provided soundtracks for notable movies including “Thelma and Louis”, “The Wedding Planner” and “Under the Boardwalk.” A previous single release “Infinite Soul” has more than 3.5 million streams on Spotify and was No. 1 on Billboard’s smooth jazz airplay chart in 2019. He’s currently working on his next full-length album that will be released this fall.
Quoted as “ A genius on the Guitar” by Los Angeles Times, Blake Aaron launched his career as an L.A. studio musician/sideman and has recorded and/ or performed with artists such as Philip Bailey (Earth Wind and Fire), Sheila E., Frank Stallone, The Alan Parsons Project, Bobby Womack and Carlos Santana (Womack-Save the Children), The Gap Band, Lakeside, Dynasty, Little Anthony, Ronnie Laws, Keiko Matsui, Najee, Warren Hill, Bill Champlin (Chicago), Ellis Hall (Tower of Power), Carlos Santana and many others. He has had multiple #1 hits including his most recent 2022 success titled “Dreamland.”
The opening act is the Dave Capp Project, a five-piece band with singer France Neil. The group has performed at the New Smyrna Beach Jazz Festival, the College Park Jazz Festival and the Blues Brothers show at Universal Studios.
The event, sponsored by WUCF, will be the largest FREE jazz event this spring with music, food trucks and 3 art exhibits. Parking is available around City Hall, located at 95 Triplet Lake Drive and adjacent businesses. ADA parking is available in front of the Casselberry Police Department, located off 17-92.
