The City of Casselberry is hosting the Track Shack Battle of the Bands 5K on Saturday, September 10. The 5K will feature high energy, live music for runners and walkers along a 3.1-mile flat route that starts and finishes at Casselberry’s Lake Concord Park, next to City Hall. All participants will receive a rockin' commemorative T-shirt and will have the opportunity to enjoy the post-race “Craft Beer Fest” where runners 21 and older can sample beer. Runners will also have the chance to vote in the “Battle of the Bands” competition for the best band along the race route. First place and top three finalists in each age category will receive awards. After the race, there will be a Kids’ Run free to all children. The day begins at 7:30 a.m. with a 5K, then at 8:45 a.m. is the Kids’ Run and then 9 a.m. is the awards ceremony. Event proceeds benefit cultural arts organizations in Casselberry. Residents of Casselberry will be out supporting the runners and there will be prizes for the loudest cheering sections.
